I am honored to be a part of this exhibition at Artspace111 in Fort Worth Texas. Thank you to everyone at Artspace111 for all your work to make the reception and exhibition safe for visitors with rsvp and extended hours! I wish I could have joined the reception in person - thank you for creating multiple ways for viewers to experience the exhibition remotely.
And Thank you to juror Kristen Gaylord, Assistant Curator of Photographs at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art for your writing about your experience jurying this show and for your time and consideration of all the artists and artworks. "...when I look at the gallery space I’m filled with hope, which can be in short supply these days. I’m reminded that often, when we don’t know where to turn or what direction to go, we should look to artists to inspire and lead us."
I am humbled and thankful that Kristen Gaylord selected Tighten Your Belt: Ranch for one of the Honorable Mention Awards. Gaylord wrote:
Tighten Your Belt: Ranch is one of those works that stays with your brain long after you see it. It is whimsical yet poignant, familiar yet disturbing, revealing Bajuyo as a master of metaphor.
