outdoor public art - Urban Ecologies
ArtPark 21, Santa Fe, New Mexico
April 24 - September 22, 2021

Our sculptural installation titled Infinite Green will be part of this juried outdoor group exhibition. Designed and created by TLC Art Collective, this sculpture’s shape is reminiscent of a cassette tape that wind and unwind in an infinite loop. Viewers can become part of narrative by stepping on to the open space in the center. Or, they may remove themselves from the hamster wheel by stepping off and seeking a different approach to land stewardship.

TLC Art Collective is comprised of Tiffany Black, a mural and mosaic artist, Leticia Bajuyo, a sculptor, and Christine Wilson, a landscape architect. Our shared approach to art-making is community-focused and conceptually concerned with environmental and social justice. We are committed to community engagement, site-responsive design, and waste conscious material use.

I am honored I was able to be part of the YOUNGARTS MIAMI 2021 Lead Faculty & Creative Team! YoungArts is a wonderful foundation and I am grateful to be a part of the 2021 team that get to work with and witness the commitment, hard work, and layers of story and expression by these selected high school students. The impact of the National YoungArts foundation is evident.  This year, the adjudication and the week of gatherings, classes, and collaboration will be online.

The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) was established in 1981 by Lin and Ted Arison to identify and nurture the most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary, design and performing arts, and assist them at critical junctures in their educational and professional development. Through a wide range of annual programs, performances, and partnerships with some of the nation’s leading cultural institutions, YoungArts aspires to create a strong community of alumni and a platform for a lifetime of encouragement, opportunity and support.

solo exhibition - Tethered
Thompson Loggia Gallery, University of Dallas, Texas
November 15, 2020 - January 28, 2021

In this solo exhibition, I am honored to share this series of drawings on wood with the University of Dallas. These drawings were inspired by Covid 19 social distancing recommendations and the experience of longing for connection and touch when safety guidelines limit contact.

solo exhibition - Tethered Oscillator
Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery, University of Dallas, Texas

October 24, 2020 - January 28, 2021

The design for the installation was inspired by a Coupled Oscillator, in which springs connect two masses in a tug-of-war that continues to search for a return to equilibrium. In this installation, the center spring is the viewer/performer, who can try to play both theremin at once due to the fact that they are positioned close enough to appear to be in reach.
